A night that catapults guests into an otherworld with a mesmerising soundscape, Afterlife is the techno party not competing with anyone else. At the helm is Italian duo Tale Of Us, renowned for their spine-tingling melodic flavour and work as label bosses of Afterlife records. Bringing their unique taste to the dancefloors of Ibiza, their night is a presentation of the best sounds coming from labels Life and Death, Innervisions and Dystopian. Known to put forth, always, a highly curated roster, the rest of the set up at Afterlife goes the opposite way. Stripped back and stripped down, light shows are kept to a minimum to put all emphasis on the gargantuan, throbbing speakers.

Yet don’t let the low-key fanfare fool you, as Afterlife racks up a rampant, eager crowd every week. Testament to the quality of music put on the stage, the sets that come from the likes of Maceo Plex, Mano Le Tough and Guy Gerber and like sonic novels. Beats that speak take their lead in traversing clubbers on an odyssey through ethereal, spacey destinations. A blend of the melancholic and emotive, fervent spikes in tone make for a night on the dancefloor that is undeniably infectious. Dancing underneath the Afterlife effigy of a hanging man sets the thrilling energy the night is so recognised for.

The popularity of the event over several seasons has seen a reputation build as a respected dancefloor for appreciating pioneering, high-calibre artists. With a forward-thinking nature behind the minds of the creators, only those that are a match in philosophy come to carry the torch. Headier, bass-hitting acts such as Ben Klock and Rødhåd have featured heavily before alongside Adriatique and Joseph Capriati who bring a lighter touch. Designed with the music lover in mind, a night at Afterlife is one for getting lost to. Following every twist and turn of this haunting tale is Tale Of Us’s vision of the afterlife.
