The village of Jesús celebrates in style on September 8th, when the annual Patron Saint of Jesús Fiesta takes over the streets. Starting with mass at the traditional, whitewashed Church of Nostra Mare De Jesús, the parade of cornets and drums groove throughout the streets offering fruits to the Virgin of Jesus, until the village becomes a colourful fiesta with street parties and live local music. The day is steeped in tradition and offers visitors the chance to view the famous painted alter of the church, dating back to the 1500s. The family-friendly celebration climaxes with a magnificent firework display, seen from miles around, before the festivities continue long into the night in the local bars and clubs.
