All-in-one, healthy-eating café, bakery and bar Lococo will launch in the heart of Playa d’en Bossa this week, serving smoothie bowls, affordable light bites and cocktails
The brainchild of Australian and Dutch female duo, Nicky and Gabby, Lococo is a young and contemporary concept set to serve a wide range of guests in search of casual, healthy food to eat in or grab and go. Alongside its bakery and patisserie, a menu of sandwiches, toasties and smoothie bowls make up its edible offerings. Coloured bright blue from spirulina and green from matcha powders, smoothie bowls come with a selection of extra toppings like coconut flakes, cocoa pieces and even shots of spirits that allow guests a fully customizable experience.
Lococo’s in-house bakery provides those on a budget with a wide range of sweet and savoury snacks. Cherry tomato and mozzarella focaccia, sausage rolls, four-cheese pizzas and avocado toasts sit alongside a rotation of sweets. E’clairs, mini pancakes, glazed donuts and pastel de natas as well as apple tarts and raspberry muffins are all produced oven-fresh and make for an accompaniment to the nearby beach or promenade.
A dynamic drinks menu that caters to both the health-food enthusiast and party-goer is integral to Lococo. Local ingredients make up signature plant-based smoothies that are largely vegan as well as their pressed juices. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry milkshakes come optionally vegan, too, as well as spiked with Baileys, Malibu or gin. The classic cocktail list showcases over 15 options with added specials such as ‘Lococonut’ and ‘Coco Ceyenne’. A real highlight of the menu are the beers which feature rare and unusual flavours like ‘Pain Au Chocolate’, a strong chocolate-flavour beer, ‘Salty The Faina’ a salt beer and ‘Renato’ a ginger, passionfruit and cinnamon ale.
