This year’s seen an unstoppable collaboration each and every Tuesday, between Ushuaïa Ibiza and Tomorrowland, that’s had us dancing all summer long. This week the partnership, featuring Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, came to a fantastic finish at Playa d’en Bossa. The attention-grabbing festival-come-party had been a summer highlight, so ended as you might imagine – in inimitable Garden of Madness style.
With a venue like Ushuaïa Ibiza, you know you’re in for a night like no other. Its reputation as one of the best global stages for dance music was complimented perfectly by the hedonistic influence of Tomorrowland – creating the perfect recipe for a closing party extravaganza.
This year’s proceedings were led by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – who know how to supercharge any space (especially an outdoor one) with non-stop vibes. First up in the Garden was Noren En Pure – whose feel-good tracks set the tone for a special celebratory night. After this slinky warm up came MATTN, whose ability to work a large crowd is undeniable. With big basslines and plenty of beats, the vocals in her set were as colourful as the stage it was set on.
MATTN’s vibe led up to the headlining duo perfectly, all Garden paths led Dimitri Vegas & Luke Mike – who have spent the last few years perfecting their unique sounds, locking down this successful residency and performing at festivals and clubs around the globe.
The duo was encased in the perfect Garden setting, which only added to the tropical ambience of the concept, taking turns to perform from inside the giant lily pods and on the main stage. The crowd was treated to a musical journey that encompassed some of the duo’s biggest floorfillers – filling the air with their trademark sound. At points during the set, the Ushuaïa crowd almost seemed lost in the Garden euphoria – thanks to the power of the bangers selected by the dance duo.
Those who attended the opening party might remember the unforgettable snake – who for the closing party exhaled bursts of smoke through its nostrils, creating an other-worldly madness that you could only discover in the Garden (and which we hope we’ll rediscover next year).
Just when you thought the magic had ended – an unlikely appearance from The Hoff showed the audience that anything is possible when you’re in the Garden. The Baywatch star was on-hand to see the night off in style, spraying the crowd with champagne and sending them wild. By the time the last song dropped and the curtain came down, the audience were left already keen for what next year’s madness has in-store.
