Her Side of the Stories is a cinematic, women-led podcast founded by storyteller and creative director Asal Zara, created to offer women the space to speak honestly and share their incredible stories.
Filmed in a forest in the centre of Ibiza, Her Side of the Stories is the first podcast to emerge from the island with a clear focus on conscious conversation. Ibiza is not treated as a backdrop, but as an incubator, a place where conversations can slow down and unfold naturally.
Rooted in deep listening and shaped by a strong editorial sensibility, the podcast blends intimate dialogue with refined visuals, cinematic sound design, and intentional pacing. Each episode delves beyond surface-level storytelling to explore the inner landscapes of women’s lives, touching on themes such as Emotional wellbeing, Resilience, Identity, Womanhood and Transformation.
Rather than chasing trends or spectacle, Her Side of the Stories prioritises emotional intelligence and lived experience. Vulnerability is approached with care, and complexity is honoured.
Guests range from internationally recognised artists, leaders, and creatives to women whose stories have never been shared publicly, real-life voices whose journeys carry wisdom and insight. What unites every guest is substance, inviting listeners into a nuanced exploration of what it truly means to be a woman.
The podcast is founded and hosted by Asal Zara, a multidisciplinary creative whose life path has been shaped by cultural duality, independence, and a lifelong fascination with human behaviour.
Born in Tehran and raised in the Netherlands from the age of two, Asal grew up between cultures. Her Persian heritage shaped her emotional depth and sensitivity, while Dutch life instilled directness and personal freedom. This duality is deeply woven into her work, alongside a natural gift for listening and understanding.
At sixteen, Asal left home to build a life on her own terms. Creativity became her language early on through writing, photography, directing, and conceptual storytelling. At nineteen, she founded an online magazine dedicated to art and culture, long before digital storytelling became a mainstream phenomenon.
Years later, she sold her apartment, closed her business, and travelled solo through more than forty countries with only a backpack, camera, and laptop. Living with locals and immersing herself in different cultures deepened her interest in psychology, emotional resilience, and the subtle forces shaping people’s inner worlds.
Now living in Ibiza for the past eight years with her partner Andy and their two children, Asal’s work reflects the values she hopes to pass on: authenticity, courage, compassion, and the freedom to live true.
The first season will launch in March 2026 and will then run weekly, with 52 episodes per year plus specials, featuring a carefully curated mix of public figures and private voices, including:
