At the end of a long lane through San Antonio’s countryside, you will be met with the spiritual home of rock and roll glamour. An epicentre of hedonism, a hangout for the musical elite, Pikes is the creation of the ever-colourful Tony Pike. Shrouded in more legendary tales than we can count, from Freddie Mercury to Grace Jones’s visits, the hotel stands as a timeless relic from ’80s Ibiza. Where opulence means unadulterated fun, it’s of no wonder why Pikes remains a cult favourite.
Today this enchanting hotel and late-night venue is a place where everyone is invited to celebrate their authentic selves. Expect an intimate house party vibe with lashings of eccentric mischief. If Pikes’ host, Sunny, isn’t commandeering you into his ball-pit karaoke, you can be rocking out to DJ Harvey on a dancefloor that resembles a front room. Grab a drink from the star-topped cocktail shed and keep an eye out for who you rub shoulders with. An unassuming night can quickly turn raucous – Pikes is a place that must be seen to be believed.
Years of party history have gifted Pikes a soul that the island can’t get enough of. Flamboyant in appearance yet laidback in attitude, no two nights here are ever the same. The line-ups are a spectacular medley of renowned artists and old-school heroes, think Fatboy Slim to Bushwaka and Mark Ronson to Jamie XX. The famous ‘Club Tropicana’ pool is perfect for cocktails and a lounging in the sun. The one place you can truly expect the unexpected.
