Wakame is a contemporary Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Ibiza Town, known for its creative sushi and modern Asian cuisine. Originally established in 2016 under the name Wasabi, the restaurant entered a new chapter in 2020 under the leadership of Jian Lin and Litterio Cifalino, who reimagined it as Wakame—a personal, detail-focused project with a strong culinary identity.
In 2022, Wakame moved to its current location, a more spacious venue inspired by Japanese Hanami aesthetics. The restaurant features three terraces: two on Miquel Caieta Soler street and a third on Jaume I street, right at the foot of Ibiza’s Renaissance walls. This third space, known as “the garden,” is a peaceful green oasis in the heart of the city. Indoors, Wakame offers a large air-conditioned dining room and the private Tatami Room, located upstairs and available for groups by reservation only.
The menu includes over 130 items: nigiri, rolls, sashimi, maki, tartare, temaki, ramen, bao buns, ceviche, soups, and rice dishes. Vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-friendly options are also available. In 2024, the offering expanded to include oysters, caviar, and a signature cocktail menu.
In May 2025, Wakame launched Wakame BAZAR, a boutique store located on the upper floor offering exclusive merchandise such as custom metal chopsticks, kimonos, hand fans, and more.
Wakame was one of the first restaurants in Ibiza to introduce the “All You Can Eat” sushi buffet, now a local favorite outside peak season.
With a well-rounded, ever-evolving concept, Wakame has become one of the top-rated Asian restaurants on the island.
