As we arrived at the open air beach club venue in Playa d’en Bossa excitement was in the air. It was the first show of 2019 hosted by the Night League for the 24 – hour opening of Ushuaïa and it’s sister venue Hï Ibiza.
ODYSSEY did not disappoint with Denis Horvat taking us through the realm of consciousness. Peggy Gou was a firm favourite as she had the crowd moving and grooving! Paul Kalkbrenner was the man of the moment, as he dropped his huge hit Sky & Sand. Although there was grey skies everyone had a smile on their face as they sang along. After the sun set and into the night Ushuaïa welcomed Afterlife head honchos Tale Of Us to set the place on fire and oh boy did they deliver! At midnight, it was time to head over to Hï Ibiza.
We hopped over to Hï Ibiza and as we entered you could hear techno pulsating through the club. Adam Port kept the crowd entertained with synths and big tribal drops. In the middle of the night a firm Ibiza favourite Adriatique took to the stage and the energy level was through the roof. Around 2.30am Andrea Oliva was at the controls keeping the crowd moving in its 14th hour. Over in the Theatre Damian Lazarus was taking everyone on a mysterious journey, while over in the Club Room Canadian DJ Mathew Jonson was at the controls. Towards the end of the night around 5am techno king Richie Hawtin took over. With minimal techno and production he had the crowd in the palm of his hand stomping away.
The grand finale.. Tale Of Us came back for a second round but this time with a special 6-hour set that lasted until midday! The Italian duo had the crowd captivated from the beginning to the end. Don’t forget you can catch the boys playing Afterlife every Thursday at Hï Ibiza this summer!
