Fabulous food and fashion at World Family Ibiza
Style-conscious visitors to the White Isle will already be well aware of the colourful bohemian universe created by iconic fashion brand World Family Ibiza. And since the 2022 season, the clan’s eclectic taste now also extends to their first gastronomic venture: World Family Ibiza Food, a meeting point that combines a restaurant and boutique all under one roof in the north of Ibiza.
Located off the roundabout at the top of the San Juan road and just a 15-minute drive from the mystical Benirras beach, a bold fusion of sartorial delights and culinary pleasure awaits guests who step inside the charming terraced venue.
Greeted by a life-size zebra sculpture at the door, when taking a seat underneath vibrant garlands and surrounded by huge crystal geodes for added good vibes, you can feel that the famous hippy spirit of Ibiza is well and truly alive at this popular destination.
The World Family heritage is a well-known part of island folklore, and began when founders Merel and Alok met and fell in love on Benirras beach in 1996. Soon thereafter, they travelled to Morroco together, where they collected exotic fabrics and other special objects from which they began to craft their first designs.
Almost 30 years, six children and three grandchildren later, and World Family is one of Ibiza’s most established fashion brands, making regular appearances on international catwalks and magazines.
This year, brothers NAME & NAME took charge of creating World Family Ibiza Food, welcoming guests for everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whether you are popping in for a morning coffee or a post-sunset cocktail, you will receive a warm welcome.
Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, around a third of the venue is displaying the World Family Ibiza fashion designs and accessories, tempting visitors to shop. From intricately embroidered leather goods to floaty summer dresses, snuggly waistcoasts to eye-catching boots, you are bound to find the perfect addition to your White Isle wardrobe here.
The Discover Ibiza team was delighted to try some of the freshly prepared fare on offer, starting with some saintly fresh juices and ‘chupito’ health shots – perfect after a morning workout!
On the menu, guests will find a variety of Mediterranean and international favourites, reflecting the World Family clan’s extensive travels.
You can never go wrong with olives, bread and a delicious dip, and that’s exactly what we had while perusing the menu.
We continued with hearty homemade ‘croquetas’ – a Spanish classic – delicious tacos and an aromatic Wonton soup.
Last, but not least, we couldn’t resist a luxurious chocolate coulant to finish off our meal.
