The White Isle remains a firm fixture for holidaymakers. Endless, stunning beaches and an array of activity to suit every kind of mood – from the spiritual to the indulgent – what’s not to love? For the newer generations, one place where Ibiza is popping up frequently is on the ‘gram. Cited as being the most ‘Instagrammable’ destination, getting the coveted snap in all of the hotspots is a must, yet increasingly an eye-catching hotel is top of the list for many a discerning, fun-loving traveler. Over the years the island has seen a boom in imaginative, concept hotels with the 2019 season sporting the most. We take a look at some of the exciting, latest contenders to have opened their doors this year.

While typically new-entry accommodation is found in the major, touristic towns, the spread of swanky hotels is reaching further and wider. Taking space in the funky Es Caná – a sweet, little town best known for its colourful Hippie Markets – is Bless Hotel Ibiza. The luxury offering is of Chanel-inspired rooms clad with all of the sophisticated musts of a chaise-longue, art-deco furnishings and an on-site vermouth bar. The 5-star retreat sits atop Cala Nova beach with its own expansive, infinity pool looking out at the stunning coastline. Its north-easterly location is ideal for feeling a world away from it all yet still accessible enough into the south. Whereas locations such as Es Caná would typically be reserved for a one-off day trip, the rising popularity of the serene out-of-town locations is interesting to see as Ibiza evolves.

Close-by in postcode, next in line is W Ibiza in Santa Eulalia. The super-luxe chain has found its home on the coastline of this popular family-friendly town. An expansive space featuring some incredibly slick and breath-taking design, the hotel comes with all of the bells and whistles to fit its vision of being the area’s new entertainment hub. A 4000 square foot spa, signature gym, chiringuito and rooftop bar that comes with its own eclectic schedule are just some of the facilities to keep guests happy. And, no expense is spared in the creation of this bedazzling complex, 162 guestrooms and suites are on tap all serviced by state-of-the-art mod cons. With the W philosophy backing this establishment, there is no need that can’t be satiated here.

Travelling to the bustling, youthful district of San Antonio, one new hotel that we’re keeping tabs on is adults-only and worlds apart in its neighbourhood’s usual appeal. Over in the Bay, the quieter side of town, Amàre Beach Hotel stands mightily. The accommodation opened in July and has been a hot topic among locals through its development. Now, a 4-star haven has revealed itself sitting directly in-front of the sea. A large rooftop terrace is the star of the show, ideal for sunsets and sunbathing right under the sun. Three pools, a dedicated beach club, 24-hour gym and luxury dining making up the calling card with an entertainment roster that maximises use of the upper floor. San Antonio runs a little short when it comes to up-scale, idyllic stays so Amàre is certainly one to disrupt this.

For those more inclined to a city-feel escape, June unveiled a fresh face in Ibiza Town. El Puerto Ibiza Hotel Spa is a 4-star, stylish and modern space that prides itself on its close proximity to all of the attractions. Designed for those who want to hop from place to place yet have everything on standby at their dig, the hotel comes equipped with a gym, spa, pool and a medley of eateries on-site. A minimal aesthetic allows for views of the sprawling town to take centre stage with rooms that boast all of the comforts. It’s not every day to see such an inclusive hotel right in the middle of the action, one thing’s for sure you can expect to feel rested and relaxed at this haunt.
