Afterlife returns to Hï Ibiza with a bang!

The opening of Afterlife was everything I hoped for and more with its atmospheric spine tingling soundtracks and spectacular production. I arrived at the club around 1am and headed straight to the Theatre room to catch Stephan Bodzin (live) it was my first time seeing him play even though he’s been on the scene for a long time. The room was packed out, and he wasted no time in playing his famous tracks Zulu and Strand which went down really well as did all the other tracks like  Huygens by Musumeci. He’s certainly a memorable character with a great skill set!

At 2am it was time for Maceo Plex to grace the decks and by this point we were packed in like sardines but that only added to the fun as we danced the night away. Maceo threw it down as he selected only the best tracks – I cant get no sleep by faithless was one of them. Over in the Club it was also packed as Marcel Dettmann had everyone moving and grooving.

The moment everyone was waiting for was fast approaching, so I got myself back over to the Theatre as Tale of Us took over the controls. There’s lot of emotional richness to be found in their sets and on this night they certainly did not disappoint. Starting off upbeat and bouncy they dropped Sandcastles (John Dahlback Remix) which sent the crowd crazy. As the night continued the dark synths and vocals kept on coming they dropped Deconsecrated by SOEL who will be making his debut at Afterlife on Thursday 12th September. I then nipped back over to the Club room which was rammed to catch Ben Klock. The German DJ had the whole place on fire with pounding techno.

The grand finale was in sight as Tale of Us and Maceo went b2b. The atmosphere was unbelievable and everyone was in good spirits. Still keeping it emotional with remixes of Song To The Siren by This Mortal Coil and Jenny of Oldstones by Florence and The Machine (Wurtz, Iberian Muse Edit). It was a fantastic night with high class talent that had the dance floor packed the entire night. Afterlife has a superb weekly line-up with big name DJs and producers. It’s one night that you do not want to miss!
