Whether you’re coming to Ibiza for a family holiday, a relaxing escape or a week of hedonistic excess, chances are you’ll find your way to one of the island’s sun drenched beaches at some point. Luckily for you, Ibiza boasts some of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the Med. Here’s our pick of the best 10 to get you started.
1. Aguas Blancas
A real locals’ beach, Aguas Blancas combines a rugged coastal setting with easy access and a good choice of amenities. Nudist friendly, the beach is the perfect choice for anyone looking to bronze away their tan lines.
2. Cala Conta
One of the best sunset spots on Ibiza, Cala Conta is the ideal place to enjoy an evening drink before heading back to your hotel and getting ready for a night on the town. The beach boasts two stretches of sand as well as a choice of rocky outcrops, giving you plenty to explore during your day by the sea.
3. Cala Bassa
Easy to access from San Antonio, Cala Bassa is a popular destination for people staying in the town. The beach’s network of rock pools makes it a great choice for families, with plenty for kids to discover as they have fun in the sun.
4. Cala Benirrás
As well as being great for swimming during the day, Cala Benirrás is an excellent place to watch the sun go down. Every evening drummers gather on the sands to ‘drum down the sunset’. A must do Ibiza experience.
5. Cala Xarraca
This small cove boasts some of the clearest waters on the island. A great place for swimming and snorkelling, Cala Xarraca is the perfect choice for visitors who want to get up close and personal with Ibiza’s marine life.
6. Cala d’Hort
Located within a national park, Cala d’Hort is ideal for couples, families and groups looking to relax, unwind and soak up some spectacular views.
7. Cala Vadella
One of the most family friendly beaches in Ibiza, Cala Vadella offers white, powdery sand, shallow waters and a great choice of amenities on the beach, one of my personal favourites!
8. Sa Caleta
Sa Caleta’s dramatic setting makes it one of Ibiza’s most recognisable beaches. Backed by sheer sandstone cliffs, the clear, shallow water of this sun drenched beach make it perfect for families, snorkelling and swimming.
9. Las Salinas
Popular with Ibiza’s hipsters, Las Salinas is home to a choice of laid back bars and a good selection of water sports. Have a go at wind surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding or diving or simply lie back on the sand and listen to Balearic beats being pumped out from a nearby sound system.
10. Talamanca
Just a short walk from the world famous Pacha nightclub and 2km from Ibiza Town, Talamanca has an international feel and is generally pretty busy throughout the summer season.
