Review | So Long 2018! Remembering DYSTOPIA’s Closing Night
1st October 2018 0 comments

Well it was Goodnight DYSTOPIA when the delightfully unique club finished its summer season on Friday in Ushuaïa.

DYSTOPIA’s summer season was the music hub for partygoers looking to do more than just dance this summer. As usual, they went above and beyond everyone’s expectations, astounding the crowd with the spectacle of dancers in far-out costumes contorting and cavorting around the stunning open-air grounds of. Heads were turning and eyes were out on stalks as the Ibiza dancers arrived ready to bid adieu to the 2018 summer season. The fun-filled wonderland was bursting at the seams on Friday, showing that the deliciously unusual adult playground was the only place to be that night.

Dystopia’s bizarre aesthetics were matched with equally mysterious melodies, making the closing night a night to remember for everyone who walked through the doors. Not least because in addition to incredible tracks and breath-taking aesthetics, a range of stalls and pop-up experiences had been set up to keep the partygoers buzzing all night long. The adrenaline in the room was palpable as partygoers flitted from one side of the venue to the other oohing and aahing over each new sight, each one crazier than the last! The creative abandon that had been taken with planning the night rubbed off on the visitors who had obviously received the memo saying that they had the complete freedom to be as crazy as they wanted!

The music for DYSTOPIA‘s closing night certainly did not disappoint; it was just as much of a wow-factor as everything else.

This season they had garnered an epic selection of the crème de la crème of electronic music artists to play week after week. Chilean-Swiss DJing maestro Luciano had delighted DYSTOPIA’s crowds at every event during his residency. For each one, he brought something new and exciting to the table, thrilling the crowds. The final night of the season was no different and the crowd was wild. Anticipation was hot. The crowd was desperate to get the music started to make DYSTOPIA’s joyously extraordinary party the best one of the year. When Raúl Rodríguez and Miss Melera got the party started with the opening set, the crowd needed no encouragement to get up and get grooving in the warmth of the early afternoon sun. Fab duo Bedouin quickly followed, keeping up to the momentum of the crowd, who all waved their hands in enthusiastic delight during their set, which played as the sun set.

By this point, the music had been going for several hours and so had the partygoers, but there was no sign of fatigue. Everyone there was on tenterhooks, waiting for the Afterlife party and label leaders Tale Of Us to begin. They were DYSTOPIA’s very special guests for the final night. And, boy, they did not disappoint! They supplied their signature melodic sound to DYSTOPIA’s exuberant hordes. Their firebrand beats reverberated joyfully around Ushuaïa, until they wowed the crowds by unleashing a hail of streamers over everyone, which set the venue shrieking in surprised wonder!

After Tale Of Us closed their mind-blowing set, an astounding solo Luciano set followed before Tale Of Us went back to back with Luciano to play a skin-tingling, irresistible last hour that had people dancing until the very, very end.

As another party is wrapped up in style for the summer, we look back on summer 2018 with fondness and excitement for summer 2019. We honestly cannot wait to see what extraordinary delights DYSTOPIA might bring to Ushuaïa next year.
