The Ultimate 2019 Closing Party Rundown
17th September 2019 0 comments

There are two types of person when it comes to September. Those who are ready to welcome the end of year festivities and those who will cling on to every last bit of summer. If, like us, you fall into the latter category then rejoice! The season in Ibiza is far from over and arguably the best is yet to come. Closings are upon us and is a time when some of the most explosive final performances tear up the dancefloors. After all, with a year’s wait till next summer, these final moments count. With our round-up of the best events rolling through ‘til October, if you missed Ibiza this summer, you won’t want to now.

The gradual shutdown of events and venues has been happening for a couple of weeks, yet we’re starting on Tuesday 17th September. A climactic duo of parties, no less, is taking space on this day to the tune of Together at Amnesia and RESISTANCE at Privilege. Will it be Chase & Status, Andy C and Sub Focus at bassline crazy Together or Carl Cox, Adam Beyer and Hot Since 82 at RESISTANCE? On Monday 23rd September another stunning grouping of artists are set to unite at Amnesia for the Pyramid closing – Nina Kraviz, Ricardo Villalobos and Paco Osuna, anyone? If the craving is for something a little more sunshine-soundtrack, then you do not want to miss the smooth-talking Craig David for his final TS5 Pool Party on Tuesday 24th September at Ibiza Rocks. On the same day Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike will be hosting their own poolside fiesta at the Tomorrowland closing at Ushuaïa Ibiza.

Platform boots and vocal chords at the ready for one last feel-good, groove-filled hurrah at Children of the 80s at the Hard Rock. Legendary Eurodance group Snap! will be on hand to get you jumping, Friday 27th September. Running with the theme of fancy-dress, Eats Everything and Paco Osuna on a five-hour set are some of the selectors to bring the epic Elrow to a peak on Saturday 28th September. Not forgetting, the long-time island-favourite, ANTS will be royally throwing it down on the same day with Joris Voorn, Andrea Oliva and Steve Lawler in tow. For something a little different, ethereal and utterly enchanting, Sunday 29th September sees Brooklyn duo Bedouin haunt the halls of HEART Ibiza with their kaleidoscopic sound at the self-titled event.

The emblematic Cocoon follows proceedings on Monday 30th September. If by now the pattern wasn’t evident, many key players have been reserved for closings. Alongside Papa Sven, Peggy Gou, Adam Beyer, ANNA and Ilario Alicante are set to grace the cavernous Amnesia. Come October, the musical heat intensifies with some heavyweight events in the pipeline. Wednesday 2nd October offers a delightful pair that’ll please both types of partygoer, Flower Power at Pacha and Paradise at DC10. Jamie Jones’ otherworld will be closing in unforgettable fashion, pulling together a champion team citing Loco Dice, Nicole Moudaber and Richy Ahmed. Now for those who like a surprise, keep Saturday 5th October pencilled in as Ushuaïa Ibiza and Amnesia’s ultimate closings are kicking off. The line-up is TBA but with the venues operating at opposite hours, it means you can do both, if the energy-bank will so allow.

Two hotspots revered for their glitterati following will be sending off the fireworks on the same day, too. And, you can have them both – Sunday 6th October sees the Blue Marlin and HEART closings. To follow is the almighty Circo Loco, Monday 7th October. With a mystery roster, the only messaging we have from this domineering get-together is, “believe the hype” – we can concur. If you like your events epic, then Marco Carola is your man. Making sure he’s the talk of the island, his rip-roaring success Music On will be closing in two parts. Thursday 10th October will lead into Friday at the swanky halls of Pacha. Then to top things off, the said King of Ibiza will claim the very end of a marathon of closings. It’s none other than the almighty Solomun. Yet to reveal his plus one at his self-titled fiesta, we say hold tight for Sunday 13th October. Oh, and we have told a white lie, it’s technically not over until the fat lady sings. Saturday 26th October is when the very, very last dance will be undertaken at Pikes with their House Party series set to be full of the usual surprise and mischief.
