Universally speaking, Saturdays ring a bell of freedom, of rest, liberation and fun. In Ibiza, Saturday’s can only mean one thing – a call to unite with the team and head to ANTS. A grassroots event, created on the island, ANTS is all about showcasing the sounds of the underground. Having amassed a firm following of workers and locals alike, the vibes at this knees-up are purely a good time and good time only. Set within the luxe and preen grounds of Ushuaïa Ibiza, this means open-air and daytime raving. Nothing beats the moody, driving beats of ANTS set against a backdrop of sunshine, the sunset and eventual stars.

Taking to the famous poolside stage, those that grace the decks are undoubtedly stars in their own rights. With the party calendar continually outdoing itself, Swiss tech-house DJ and producer Andrea Oliva takes helm at the majority of shows. Followed closely by the likes of Joris Voorn, Steve Lawler, Maya Jane Coles and Erick Morillo; it’s fair to say Playa D’en Bossa never was a hotter postcode. And, with the symbolic ant now an image for only one thing on Ibiza, getting together and joining the colony for a mid-day-turn-night-time party has never been a better idea.

Undoubtedly, the swathes of revellers that turn out for an ANTS shindig resemble the insect in its natural habitat. Amassing thick crowds clad in the unofficial uniform of black every week, the wildly popular and dizzying status of ANTS is testament to over six seasons of turning up the sonic heat. A taste for finely curated music and production that turns the sleek poolside stage venue into a smoky, mysterious world has cemented this party as a classic in Ibiza’s party portfolio.

With minimal, melodic and enchanting house and tech-house the calling card, dancers cut the sky-high podiums with shapes as dramatic as the drops. Lasers that reach as far as the atmosphere and pyrotechnics blasting at all the right moments turn the vast playgrounds of Ushuaïa Ibiza into a thrilling ride for those who choose to play part in the colony.
