A place which is very special to me, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has been the catalyst to many big stars in my life. It was the reason I returned to Ibiza for a second time after seeing the statement marketing for this beautiful hotel – I was instantly drawn back and had to try it – and was also the reason I began the Discover Ibiza journey and fell back in love with the island. As I’ll talk you through, an eye for world-class service and tireless attention to detail makes this hotel more than just a place to rest your head.
There’s no doubt that party lovers head to Playa D’en Bossa for the latest events, superstar DJs and the best in daytime parties, especially at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel’s attachment of an open-air club. If a bit more pool and beach action is your thing with a healthy slice of clubbing – Then Ushuaïa Tower next door caters to this and makes an ideal stay.
The Ushuaïa Tower is just a stone’s throw from the heart of all the action of Playa Den Bossa resort, Sitting next door to the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, it’s a brief stroll from the festival like stage at The Ushuaïa Club itself and across the road from superclub Hï Ibiza. It’s also on the same coastline as daytime beach clubs like Nassau Beach, Nassau Tannit and Beachouse. Plus Ibiza Town is just a 10-minute drive away.
If you’re touching down at night into Ibiza airport, you’ll almost get a perfect view of the lit-up The Ushuaïa Club and The Ushuaïa Tower – the tower is covered in decorative pastel flowers and a signature giant red hummingbird to one side. The hotel’s vibe is fun and playful meets contemporary stylish chic with a mostly all-white aesthetic, designed with raucous hits of reds and other bright colours throughout. Uber trendy in its set-up, the hotel (and club) caters to a vibrant young, international and image-conscious crowd.
There’s certainly no shortage of staff on hand either, which is what breathes life and character into the hotels. From security across the venues, the friendly faces at check-in to simply someone to advise you of the best places to eat out or party, there’s someone on-call to tend to every need. In fact, some of the exceptional staff are there purely to host guests like VIPs and attend to their whims, whether they’re hotel clientele or just a visitor. Fancy a last-minute boat trip or excursion? There’s a dedicated team at the experience counter who can book one for you.
I’ve been coming to Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel for 7 years and count the staff now as close friends. I always say, treat people how you want to be treated and the saying never ran truer at the hotel. It has some of the most beautiful people working there who take the time to treat guests like family, inviting conversation and checking in on how things are without prompt.
This attention to detail is found throughout the hotel as well as in its staff. Looking for a room transfer? Reception is swift to assist with one, and they’ll even send someone to help with your luggage. When it comes to the facilities, your trendy RFID wristband – that acts as a wallet and a key – has everything for your stay and to access the on-site restaurants, pool areas and the lavish spa – of course, your room too. All the rooms at The Ushuaïa Tower feature a furnished balcony, some of the rooms in the Ushuaïa club have their town terraces leading onto the events dance floors! All come with a well-stocked bar of some of the finest drinks and spirits from around the world. Luxury Clinique amenities come as standard in bathrooms and playful extras are served in the way of a ‘sensual kit’, fake hummingbird tattoos (Ushuaïa Ibiza logos) and even ‘after-drinks’ chewing gum.
A variety of themed rooms are on tap. Having been lucky enough to stay in nearly all of the suites, my favourite of them all is the ‘Fashion Victim’ suite, of which there are 15. They feature round beds and is my winner for offering club and pool views as well as being sea-facing with a jacuzzi right on the balcony. Although the unmistakable jewel to Ushuaïa Ibiza’s crown has to be the eye-watering ‘I’m On Top Of The World’ suite. This extravagant get-up comes with a separate living area, dining area, DJ booth and walk-in-wardrobes. Topped off by amazing views of the island, the club, two jacuzzies to marvel at it all from – one indoors and out – plus your own butler, this option is by far the most lavish. Its price is a reflection though at 10k a night!
Between The Ushuaïa Tower and The Ushuaïa Club, you are spoiled for eateries to while the day away at. There’s the Montauk Steakhouse Ibiza which stands as one of my favourite haunts across the world for the steak that is stellar every time – and the staff which are incredibly attentive. You also have the stylish Minami Japanese Restaurant, closest to the club, an exquisite Japanese-Asian fusion restaurant, to Sir Rocco Beach Restaurant by Ushuaïa, a trendy, casual beachfront option with easy dishes like Pizza, burgers and salads all with sprawling views of the coast.
Undoubtedly the pinnacle is the Unexpected Breakfast, served until 11.30am at The Beach by Ushuaïa Ibiza restaurant and is quite the attraction and the perfect start to any day, drawing in outsiders who’ve heard of the levels it goes to. It includes a monster size luxury buffet covering half of the beach club, and includes a Ferris wheel full of candy, caviar station, Ice cream machine and even a kebab stand – and whether you’re relaxing at the beach club or by the infinity pool, there’s plenty of choices when it comes to tasty snacks and treats throughout the day from the many bars.
The fantastic service that goes into every pocket of the hotel coupled with the beautiful décor and enchanting staff, Ushuaïa Ibiza will always be one of my favourite places in the world. A luxurious world that invites others to fall in love, too, it is a must for any serious holiday itinerary.
